Ok this happened last week, I just needed a little cool down time.

I'm taking painting one in college as part of my AFA. I thought it would be fun. But no. Not. At. All. I hate the teacher, she is so rude and un-helpful it's crazy.

The week before last she gave us an homework assignment to bring in at least two images of gallery worthy paintings by an artist of our choice. Only thing was they needed to be in color. She also adds they have to be paintings and they can be by whoever we wanted. I was like ok cool. Free reign in this class for once.

I enjoy fantasy paintings and art. It's what I like to draw and paint myself. I figure this assignment would be fun because I can do what I want for a change. So I bring in pieces by fantasy artists that have worked on movies and been in galleries.

She tells me I can't use ANY of the images I brought. I was like what? These are images in books by know artists done in oil or acrillic paint and they have been in galleries. I prove my point and show her that, as I'm a little tiffed.

Her reasoning: They aren't real painters.

Excuse me? They are done in paint like you said and been in galleries. Really your going to tell me fantasy artist are not real artists? Who died and made you queen? Just because I am not a realist and did not choose a realistic piece or one by an artist like piccaso and Van Gough I can not use the images I brought? Abstract artists are making gallery worthy pieces yet they are not realists. Where do you get off telling me i can not use a fantasy art image?

This is not fair and is discriminating against the type of art I like. Telling me pretty much I am not a real artist is rude and cruel and hurts. I work hard on the pieces I make, just like any other artist.

Teacher I am not ussualy one to be provoked, especially by a teacher but I wanted to call you a few choice names and spit in your face and broaden your scope of art.

Also you laugh and poke fun at me because I use DeviantArt to hold hold my pieces on line and share them with the world. You tell me real artists don't use that site. That is full of nothing but crap. That it's a waste of time. That is not true. Wonderful art can be found on DA. I love it. It's a way to be found by people interested in purchasing or commisioning art pieces. It's a good way to promote.

Teach I hate you. Your supposed to teach us techniques in painting. hot to apply in different ways, use the medium, and such. But you tell us what the assignment is and walk away. You give no instruction or anything. After we have been painting for a few hours your come back and nothing but BASH our art. It's painting ONE for God's sake. Half the class is there for fun, and hasn't even taken drawing one yet. Yet you insist on bashing and not helping us fix it. Your so harsh, you bash, your rude, then you walk away.

That is NOT how you critique something. You say something nice you see, point out what can be fixed and offer suggestions on how to fix it. You don't pretty much tell someone their art is crap, then walk away laughing. It hurts. Many people don't want to take art classes now because of her. Which is a sad sad thing as art is supposed to be fun for you. Not a hurtful experience.

So in my opinion teacher, you are not a real artist or a teacher. Your a snob and concited hurtful woman. You need to just quit and stick to making your own paintings, away form people your going to hurt and chase away from art.

I just needed to vent. This woman had me so flustered in class, I started to turn red in the face and my chest hurt. Then she nearly made me cry. She's so hateful.


Oh does anyone know where I can get a cool skin made?
